Rachel Policar is a 21-year old soprano vocalist with a vocal range of F below middle C to G above high C. She begins her senior year at Arizona State University this fall, where is she currently pursuing concurrent degrees in Musical Theater and Vocal Performance, under the watchful eye of David Britton.
Rachel has appeared in six productions for the ASU Lyric Opera Theatre, including West Side Story, Luisa Fernanda, Giulio Cesare, Sunday In the Park With George,and Suor Angelica. This fall, she will appear in a leading role in their production of Turn of the Screw.
In the summer of 2008, Rachel participated in the College Light Opera Company's summer program in Falmouth, Mass., appearing in nine shows in nine weeks. Highlights from the program include roles as Fredrika in Sondheim's A Little Night Music and Fleta in Gilbert and Sullivan's
This past summer, Rachel spent a month studying at the Manhattan School of Music's summer study program.
